Steve Bonds – Mysterious wavey abstract art

I love steve’s work, I think its very clever, and looks exceptional. The brush strokes he uses to manipulate his curvy wavey designs is amazing, and the colours all look very mysterious together. To me personally it reminds me of different vibrant colours dropped into dark water all creating random wavey patterns as they all intersect. I think his artwork is wonderful, and very original.

He has lots of other styles as well, and they all show off his very interesting colourful talent. His modern abstract art is definitely worth a look.

Martin Rolt – Modern marble asbtract art

Martin is another self taught artist who creates wonderful modern abstract art. He has a range of different galleries but my favourite is the unique contemporary marbling/pouring technique he uses. This collection looks messy with all the swirling colours, but its got a very stylish modern feel to it. The colours all interact so beautifully, creating a wonderful marbling effect.

Its just a shame not all his work is on his website, but the other galleries are also worth a look. He creates alot of textured landscapes, and also other forms of vibrant colourful modern abstract art. Another artist who I feel has a lot more to offer.

Julia Sadeh – Mosaic style modern abstract art

Julia is from the UK, and she also loves her three dimensional art. I am particularly interested in her mosaic range where she attaches small squared (sometimes textured) pieces onto a big canvas. The overall composition looks very unique, and the different colours she uses makes her work really stand out. She uses lots of bright and wonderful colours, and the random pieces of squares sit very well together.

As well as her mosaic art her other galleries are very good as well. She is a very talented artsist and her diverse styles include cubism, figure, texture, and landscapes. All her work in those categories is exceptional, and she remains consistent with her vibrant colour palette. Her work is definitely worth a look.

CK wood – Beautiful modern textured floral art

Another artist from my city of Leeds is CK Wood, who specialises in creating stunning modern floral art using beautiful textures. Shame that not all of the artists work is on their website, because I have seen some stunning work from this artist. The “textured poppies” range is my favourite, because the colour and texture that is used looks stunning and vibrant. The use of metallic colours and the glossy finish makes the work look so beautiful.

I have included a few snapshots of textured poppies and it’s a shame not all of this artists work is on their website. It would be nice if the website was improved to show more work, which I think would generate a lot of interest. If you are after modern floral art, forget all the canvas prints, and make a statement by owning one of these stunning pieces.

Katherine Horgan – Sleek modern abstract art

Katherine like me isbased in Leeds, UK, and we were both born in the same year. As well as producing glorious pieces of art, she also does graphic and web design, and I was impressed by all of her portfolio’s. She is very creative, and each of her designs look very sleek and modern. I love her paintings they are very unique and some of them look absolutely stunning. Her art would look lovely in a modern home, or a modern building, because of her style. I just love the way she separates her skyscape style areas with a sleek textured strip to make the whole piece look unique and ultra modern. Her cutting edge designs must be bringing her a lot of interest from all aspects of the art world.

Tom McKinley – Stunning architectural abstract art

Tom’s work is very unique, and it would be absolutely adored by interior and exterior deisgners.In his most recent body of work, McKinley invites his viewers into a series of eerie yet alluring architectural landscapes and interiors. Although predominantly devoid of people, his canvases are often occupied by objects of material culture that suggest human interaction – paintings, books, and beds that are juxtaposed with the clean, spare interiors to hint at lived-in spaces. The results are highly evocative and finely rendered canvases that skillfully draw viewers into a world that is both representational and quietly surreal.

I think if interior designers were looking for art for their own homes, then they would all turn towards Tom. His work is full of colour and the designs of modern homes are absolutely clean and sharp. He doesn’t has his own website unfortunately but he is represeneted by a gallery if any of you are interested in his beautiful work.

Sue Barsby – Beautiful modern textured seascapes

Just like me, Sue loves mixed media to create some wonderful textured art. From a young age she was fascinated by colour and texture, and today you can see that through her work. She has always remained in the field of art by studying and teaching, but her lifelong ambition was to become a full time professional artist. She has now achieved that goal in life, which has enabled her to create some very exceptional work.

Her seascape collection is my absolute favourite. The way she portrays clusters of pebbles and stones is amazing. This blog is all about artists who create unique work, and Sue definitely fits the bill. Her use of colour, texture, and composition is amazing, and I bet in real life those wonderful textures look really interesting. Most of her inspiration comes from nature itself, and little minute details of nature can keep her challenged for hours. Lets just hope she gets challenged even more so she can keep us inspired with more of her wonderful textured work.

Alice Young – Contemporary calligraphy art

Alice has a wonderful way of bringing her calligraphic talent into the world of abstract. Her combination of both genres makes her work very unique and interesting. She started a career in graphic design, but always kept her calligraphy skills at heart. Most of her inspiration comes from music, poetry, lyrics, art, and historical manuscripts, and with these inspirations she produces some amazing contemporary calligraphy.

Tina Ashton – Elegant modern contemporary portraits

Tina’s colourful and bold portraits are absolutely stunning. Her “todays woman” collection is my favourite, as it depicts modern females with some beautiful vibrant colours. Her bold colourful portrait’s has bought her a lot of success and interest from all around the world. When you look at her work you can see why a lot of interest has been generated. She is very diverse and she has a lot other styles of work as well, including contemporary abstracts and a bit of photography as well. She likes to develop new styles all the time, and you can tell she has a lot more to offer with every new painting she creates. She keeps surprising us with something new, and it’s great to see an artist who is willing to try new things and push the boundaries all the time.

Peter Rumney – Stunning modern abstract landscapes

Pete is from the UK, and It was the Whitley Bay, Tynemouth and Cullercoats vista that first inspired the artist to paint his stunningly effective depictions of beautiful sunsets in his own inimitable way. I find some of his work to be very surreal, like he is painting sunsets and landscapes of other planets. He is a very talented individual, and his use of vibrant surreal colours makes his work very interesting, and unique.

If anyone is interested in buying prints of landscapes, cityscape’s, or sunsets, then stop right there. I really advise you to look at Pete’s fantastic work first before any other options are considered. His hand painted art is original, unique, and absolutely stunning, and it would look amazing on any wall space.
